Welcome: Post #1

Welcome, beautiful people! I am already frustrated with starting this blog. I am frustrated because I already had this entire thing written, and somehow, IT’S ALL GONE! So here I am starting it again, from nothing, ALL OVER.

But I will change my mindset and use it to allow myself to write it better!

Welcome, beautiful humans, family and friends, new and old! If you know me, you know that I am never doing things halfheartedly. If you want something done, I’ll have it done yesterday! When I decided to start my business, I dove right in! To start my business and jump start things, I initially thought I wanted to go big and run and own an event center, but that costs A LOT more than simply starting a business. I began brainstorming and thinking about what I could do that would almost be an event space and could be an event in itself. That’s when I thought of the idea of the truck bed trailer. Not everyone has a truck, and I had been seeing things on social media about truck bed date nights, and then I just thought that it could be used for so many other things! So, Labor Day of 2024, down to Indiana I went! Gilbert has now been used for many photos and backdrops for many events; he has been in a parade and has many more to come!

Gilbert's wife, Wilma, is the newest addition to Keener Events, LLC. When bringing home Gilbert, it seemed appropriate to name him. He just seemed to have a personality, and it was as if he needed a persona of his own; so Green Gilbert he became. Now, back to Wilma. I was heading out to Allendale from Hamilton, just taking a usual route, and there she sat. She was getting rusty, sitting alone in a small field, by a little ranch house. I knew I had to have her. Not long after laying eyes on her, I got in contact with someone. We arranged a time, and for the price, I could not turn her down. Currently, Wilma is blue, has many holes from rust, and needed new tires, but those were the first task in her makeover. She needs a new hitch and a jack in due time. With Wilma currently being blue and having many repairs needed, she will eventually get painted. The plan is to paint her white. This is where the name Wilma came in, White Wilma, along with Green Gilbert. The process of repairing the holes will take some time. The material I will be using needs to cure/set in warmer weather than Michigan currently allows. As of now, Wilma has her new tires, and she has been cleaned out, sanded down, and then pressure-washed.

On another note, many of my close friends and family know I have always been passionate about photography. It is something that I very much enjoy doing as a hobby, but I fear committing to it as a full-time career and getting burned out. I have decided to add that as a part of my business, but just very minimally. But along with the photography subject and another branch of Keener Events, LLC, I have started a garden and greenhouse at my house as a “photography venue” opportunity. A vintage picket fence surrounds the garden, containing an old metal headboard/footboard combo and a black arch. The greenhouse I am custom-building out of an old carport frame by adding wood to certain parts of the frame and then adding old wooden windows, a clear corrugated polycarbonate roof, and many more features that will make this greenhouse a one-of-a-kind place for creating beautiful photos.
